The Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2008 (Act No. 28 of 2008) was enacted to prevent the reclamation of paddy fields and wetlands and their conversion for non-agricultural purposes, while ensuring food security, biodiversity conservation, and water resource protection.
