All 23 Wards of Thavinhal Grama Panchayat Declared E-Waste-Free!
The E-Waste-Free Thavinhal Campaign, spearheaded by Thavinhal Grama Panchayat, has been successfully completed. Electronic waste collection drives were conducted across all 23 wards of the Panchayat on October 28 and 29, 2026, completing the process of declaring every ward an E-Waste-Free Ward.
Subsequently, on October 30, 2026, the President of Thavinhal Grama Panchayat, Shri M. G. Biju, officially declared Thavinhal Grama Panchayat an E-Waste-Free Grama Panchayat.
The collective participation of elected representatives, Haritha Karma Sena members, Kudumbashree workers, Panchayat officials, ward-level volunteers and the general public played a vital role in making this initiative a success, contributing towards a cleaner and more environmentally sustainable Thavinhal.
The campaign also helped create public awareness about the importance of responsible electronic waste management, encouraging people to avoid indiscriminate disposal of e-waste and ensure its scientific collection and proper disposal through authorised channels.
